A compact version of its parent that grows more upright when young becoming spreading with age. Foliage is highly resistant to all the major crabapple diseases. Red to pink flowers open to single sweet smelling snow-white flowers. The flowering shows more of a tendency towards annual production than Sargent crabapple. Its tiny ruby-red crabapples provide color into late winter.
